Hebei cuisine – the five most famous dishes and their recipe

Hebei cuisine is one of the four famous regional cuisines in China. It is famous for its boiled mutton, hotpot, chicken soup, and vinegar. However, you might find it hard to imagine that these dishes are from the same cuisine. Hebei cuisine has a rather mild taste and is often subtle in flavor with light spices. More precisely, there are five most typical dishes in Hebei cuisine: boiled mutton, hotpot, chicken soup, soybean paste duck and vinegar. Boiled mutton

Boiled mutton is the most famous dish of Hebei cuisine. The dish is boiled for a long time to make it more tender and flavorful. Usually, the meat is cut into thin slices and served with rice or noodles. It can also be eaten with vinegar sauce, soy sauce, or sweet sauce.

Put it in a pot and cover with water. Add salt and bring to a boil. 2. When the soup boils, add sesame oil, garlic and ginger, then turn off the heat and leave it for 30 minutes. 3. Soybean paste duck

: The soybean paste duck is a type of dish that is made with duck, soybean paste and other ingredients. The process of making this dish is quite simple and easy to complete. First, you will need to cut a whole duck into eight pieces. Afterwards, you need to mix the duck with some salt and pepper before frying it in oil. In order to make the sauce, you will need four tablespoons of soybean paste, two teaspoons of sugar and some water. After cooking the sauce for about 10 minutes, add the cooked duck in for about five minutes before serving it over rice or noodles.


Vinegar chicken

Vinegar chicken is one of the most popular dishes in Hebei cuisine. This dish is a specialty of the Gaocheng District and is often eaten as breakfast. The chicken is first boiled in water with some salt, then an egg yolk and vinegar are added to create the sauce. To bring out the flavor, sugar, salt, soy sauce, black pepper and sesame oil are also added. Finally, cut green onion is served on top for garnish.
