The child psychiatrist’s goal is to help the child or adolescent live a normal, healthy life. Some of the most common disorders treated by child psychiatrists include:

-ADHD

-anxiety disorders

-depression

-autism spectrum disorder

One of the unique aspects of child psychiatry is that it often requires a multidisciplinary approach. This means that child psychiatrists often work with other professionals, suchas child psychologists, child therapists, pediatricians, child neurologists, social workers, teachers and family members.

It is also important for the child psychiatrist to focus on the family systems in order to help improve or maintain the mental health of the child

The family systems are what child psychiatry focuses on because it helps improve or maintain a healthy life for their patients.
